Yala National Park Day Tour
The world's highest density of leopards — plus elephants, sloth bears, and hundreds of bird species in Block 1
À propos de cette excursion
Yala Block 1 has the highest concentration of leopards of any national park on earth. On a good day, multiple sightings of Sri Lanka's apex predator — lazing on rocks, carrying prey, or stalking through tall grass — are possible. Elephants are virtually guaranteed; sloth bears, crocodiles, and water buffalo very likely. This is a top-5 wildlife destination in Asia and one of the most rewarding safari experiences in the world.

Programme de la journée
Hotel Pick-Up
Pre-dawn departure from Colombo, Galle, Mirissa, or Ella to reach Yala for the morning opening.
Morning Game Drive (3 hrs)
Enter Yala at first light — the peak time for leopard activity. Your tracker will navigate Block 1's dense network of tracks, scanning rocks, tree branches, and tall grass for the tell-tale shape of a leopard.
Morning Exit & Rest
Exit the park during the midday heat. Rest at the camp or nearby lodge.
Lunch & Freshening Up
Lunch at a park-boundary restaurant or lodge.
Afternoon Game Drive (3 hrs)
Re-enter the park as animals become active again. Afternoon drives are excellent for elephants at the waterholes, crocodiles basking, and sometimes leopard cubs emerging from cover.
Sunset Drive & Exit
Final circuit along the coastal scrub where leopards often hunt at dusk. Exit the park at closing time.
Return Journey
Drive back to your hotel, arriving approximately 10:00–11:00 PM.
