Sinharaja is Sri Lanka's last viable area of lowland rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to 26 of Sri Lanka's 33 endemic bird species, rare reptiles found nowhere else on earth, and trees that have stood for centuries, it is one of the most biodiverse patches of forest in Asia. The guided walk is a revelation — mixed-species bird flocks move through the canopy in waves, endemic purple-faced leaf monkeys crash through the branches above, and the forest floor is a carpet of ferns and fungi.

Meet your forest tracker at the entrance. Brief orientation on the forest, its inhabitants, and how to move quietly.
Rainforest Walk (Morning)
Enter the forest as the birds are most active — your tracker will spot endemic species with extraordinary precision: Sri Lanka blue magpie, green-billed coucal, red-faced malkoha, Malabar pied hornbill.
Waterfall & Swimming Stop
Reach a forest waterfall with a clear pool — a perfect break for a swim in the cool jungle water.
Jungle Lunch
Packed lunch at a forest shelter or at the buffer-zone resthouse.
Afternoon Forest Walk
Second walk focuses on reptiles, butterflies, and the extraordinary variety of plant species — pitcher plants, mosses, epiphytic orchids, and centuries-old dipterocarp giants.
Return Journey
Drive back to your hotel, arriving approximately 7:30 PM.
