Wilpattu National Park Day Tour
Sri Lanka's largest and most hauntingly beautiful park — leopards, bears, and ancient tank ecosystems
About This Tour
Wilpattu — 'Land of Lakes' — is Sri Lanka's largest national park and arguably its most atmospheric. Its defining feature is the ancient network of natural lakes called villus, which fill and drain with the seasonal rains and create extraordinary wildlife habitats. The park has a wild, forgotten quality — overgrown trails, enormous trees, and the sensation of being somewhere genuinely untamed. Leopard density is high; sloth bears and elephants are regularly seen. Far fewer visitors than Yala.
